Fantasy and imagination are the theme of Daisuke Yamaguchi’s senior art exhibition at the University of Nebraska at Kearney Walker Art Gallery now through Friday, Nov. 30.

Yamaguchi is a studio art major from Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan. The public reception for the senior art exhibition will take place on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 2- 4 p.m. in the Walker Art Gallery. The senior exhibition showcases some of the student’s best work in the art department.

Yamaguchi’s exhibit features oil paintings such as “Under the Sea,” “Sunflower,” “Monster,” “Fish,” “Hometown,” “Turtle” and “Forest.” He is also showing two mixed media pieces, “Portrait” and “Aquarium,” as well as a piece using pastels, titled “Firefly.”

“My theme is that of making worlds which cannot be seen with the camera,” Yamaguchi said. “I created and chose some fantasy tastes in my art.”

The UNK Walker Art Gallery, which is free and open to the public, is open Monday- Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
