CONCERTS-ON-THE-PLATTE TO FEATURE FLUTIST FRANZISKA NABB MONDAY, NOV. 19

The University of Nebraska at Kearney Concerts-on-the-Platte series will feature UNK flutist Franziska Nabb on Monday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

Nabb, a UNK lecturer in music, will be accompanied by Dr. Jonathan Sokasits of Hastings on piano. The concert is free and open to the public.

Nabb will perform five pieces including “Scherzo Final” by Mel Bonis, “Divertimento” by Jean Francaix, “Kadha Karuna (Song of Mercy)” by Kazuo Fukushima and “Concerto for Flute and Orchestra” by Jaques Ibert, as well as a piece by Sofia Gubaidulina.

Originally a native of Munich, Germany, Nabb has presented recitals in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and the U.S. She received a degree in performance from the Robert-Schumann Institute for Music in Dusseldorf, Germany.

She is currently a member of the Kearney Symphony Orchestra, UNK Woodwind Quintet, the Flubano Trio and the Highfalutin’ flute group.
