“Shake It Up” is the theme for the annual cheer and dance kids camp set for Friday, Feb. 17, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The camp was originally scheduled for an earlier weekend, but was postponed to this coming weekend because of inclement weather.
Members of the UNK Sapphires Dance Team and UNK Cheerleading Squad sponsor the camp, which includes a cheer and dance clinic from 4-6 p.m. in the UNK Cushing Coliseum. Participants will then perform at 6 p.m. during half-time of the UNK women’s basketball game.
“Kids ages four through fifth grade are welcome,” said Heather Wolf, Spirit Squad adviser and UNK assistant director for student activities. “The cost of the clinic is $25, and includes a t-shirt, goody bag and two additional parent tickets to the evening basketball games.” Individuals can register by calling 308.865.8398. Registrations will also be taken at the 4 p.m. check-in.
