Winners from the 25th Annual Business Competition Day, held recently on University of Nebraska at Kearney campus, have been announced.
In all, nearly 200 high school business students from 16 area high schools competed in 18 business categories, ranging from Business Math to Personal Money Management. Six places were awarded in each category, with each first-place winner receiving a medal and a certificate. The event is sponsored by the UNK chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, an organization for students interested in business careers and business-related fields.
“Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America,” said Mary Rittenhouse, PBL faculty adviser. “Membership is open to all students with an interest in the business world.” The UNK Lambda Rho chapter has been active for 46 years.
“Business Competition Day is just one of the ways that PBL gives back to the community,” Rittenhouse said.
