KEARNEY– The American Marketing Association, a collegiate chapter for marketing professionals at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, has elected new officers for the 2011-2012 school year.
According to Marsha Yeagley, chapter adviser and senior lecturer in the UNK Department of Marketing and MIS, students in the organization can develop leadership skills and network with professionals in their career field.
“AMA helps the students by providing resources, education, as well as providing career and professional development opportunities,” she said. The group, along with Yeagley, recently participated in the Nebraska AIDS Walk, helping to raise more than $7,000. Funds raised through the walk will be used locally to assist people with HIV/AIDS.
The newly elected officers, listed alphabetically by hometown, include:
Cook – Joe Mannscreck, vice president of membership/treasurer
Kearney – Shawn Arkle, executive vice president, and Natalie Regenos, president;
Lincoln – Becca Swenseth, vice president of promotions and programming
