Winners have been announced for the Ninth Annual Robotics Competition: A-mazing Robots held recently at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Each year, students in the UNK Department of Computer Science and Information Systems build robots to enter in the competition. This year, the robots competed to successfully navigate a maze in the shortest length of time. In a previous year, the robots have had to put a ball through a miniature basketball hoop.
The team that constructed the winning robot included Tyler Adelung of Amherst, Joshua Beck ofArapahoe and Dan Farlin of Kearney. The three were members of the AllSpark robot team.
Other teams in the competition included:
Turtle robot team – Aaron Mitchell of Gothenburg, Luke Decker of Kearney and Kelsey Bard ofWakefield.
Steve robot team – Garrett Kearney of Elm Creek, Ryan Levell of Cozad and David Gangwish ofShelton.
FDL (Fast Don’t Lie) robot team: Liang Liang and Wen Luo, both of China.
