Approximately 70 freshmen have been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma national honor society at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Students must have earned a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale during their freshman year at UNK to be eligible for membership in Phi Eta Sigma.
“The UNK chapter, which was chartered in 1984, engages in campus and community service, and promotes scholarship though annual awards to selected chapter members,” said Dr. Robert Luscher, UNK Phi Eta Sigma adviser and English professor.
Dr. Ross Taylor, assistant professor of marketing and management information systems, and Dr. Keith Terry, professor of communications, were inducted into the honor society as honorary members.
In all, there are 365 Phi Eta Sigma chapters throughout the United States, with more than 975,000 members nationally.Phi Eta Sigma is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies,
