Junior Recital Featuring Amy Jensen Set for Saturday, March 27, at UNK

UNK – Amy Jensen, a musical theatre major from Kearney, will perform a junior recital on Saturday, March 27, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The recital, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall, is free and open to the public. Jensen, a mezzo-soprano, studies voice with Dr. Anne Foradori, UNK music and performing arts professor.

Jensen will perform selections by Gustav Mahler, Pauline Viardot and Leonard Bernstein. She will also be performing contemporary musical theatre pieces by Adam Gwon, Ryan Scott Oliver, Jonathan Reid Gealt and Jule Styne. Jensen will be accompanied on piano by Todd Thalken and Andrea Zecha on cello. Both Thalken and Zecha are from Kearney.

Jensen will be joined by Jillian Parker of Goodland, Kan., for “If Momma was married,” which is from the musical “Gypsy.” Parker is also a mezzo-soprano.

Jensen was a 2009 Region 5 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan nominee. She is the daughter of Jerry and Lisa Jensen of Kearney.
