UNK– Students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will be able to dive into the Olympic sized swimming pool on campus and watch a movie on Friday, Jan. 29.
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) at UNK will sponsor a “dive-in” movie night from 9 p.m. until midnight.
The event, which will take place at the Cushing swimming pool in the Health and Sports Center on campus, is free to all UNK students with a valid I.D. Free snacks and beverages will also be provided throughout the evening.
Students can relax in the swimming pool while watching a movie or participate in several pool games. Along with the free movie and swimming, students can also spend the evening in the Cushing Coliseum.
According to Kyle Brandyberry, RHA programming chair, this is the first “dive-in” movie night at UNK. “RHA came up with the idea, but people from the Health and Sports Center had a similar idea,” Brandyberry said. “Students at UNK can expect to see more events like this in the future.”
RHA is the governing body of the UNK residence halls and serves as a representative voice for students. RHA supports and sponsors programs and events between halls and other campus organizations. If students have suggestions or programming ideas, they can voice their opinions and ideas by adding the “UNK RHA” group on Facebook.
