Family Day 2008 Set For Saturday, Sept. 20, At The UNiversity Of Nebraska At Kearney; Outstanding UNK Family

 UNK- A Chemistry Spectacular, performance by illusionist Reza, Loper athletics and presentation of the Outstanding Family Award are among the highlights of Family Day 2008 this Saturday (Sept. 20) at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Hosted by UNK Loper Programming and Activities Council, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Atrium of the Nebraskan Student Union. The 2008 Outstanding Family Award will be presented at 11:45 a.m. by the Cope Fountain.

Events planned for the day include a Chemistry Spectacular, a performance by illusionist Reza, college receptions with department faculty and administration, and a barbecue at Cope Fountain. A special campus tour will be offered through the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions. Reservations for the tour can be made by calling 308.865.8526.

The “Pride of the Plains” marching band, under the direction of Dr. Neal Schnoor, UNK director of bands, will perform a pre-game spectacular. Loper athletics will be in action with a 1 p.m. football game against Adams State at Cope Stadium. The Lady Loper volleyball team will take to the court against Colorado Mines at 7 p.m. at the Health and Sports Center. Tickets for both athletic events can be purchased in advance by calling the Athletic Department at 308.865.1563.

Reservations are necessary. Payments may be made on, or before, Saturday, Sept. 20. Completed forms and payments are to be made to LPAC at the Nebraskan Student Union, 1013 West 27th St, Kearney, NE 68849.
