Tickets for the 16th Annual Edible Flowers Tea, set for Sunday (July 13) at the Frank House, must be purchased by 5 p.m. today (July 11), according to Gloria LeDroit, Frank House Friends member.
“We have expanded the program, and we have new recipes,” said LeDroit. Tickets are $15 are available from LeDroit by
calling 308.234.9812.
At the edible flowers event, guests will be served tea and will learn what all they can do with flowers they may have in their gardens. There will be a variety of recipes for ice creams, cakes, cookies and more, all using edible flowers. The event includes a demonstration, Frank House tour, recipe booklet and a garden tour.
“On behalf of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, we would like to thank the Friends of the Frank House for their volunteering and fund-raising activities in support of the Frank House mission,” said KrisAnn Sullivan, Frank House director. The historic mansion is located on the UNK West Campus.
Sullivan said the Frank House mission is to preserve the mansion’s historical and aesthetic values for the benefit of the present and future generations.
“This is an opportunity for people to come out, see the Frank House and get excited about it,” LeDroit said, adding that, “Some people love to get dressed up for tea, and we love to see that. We encourage everyone, men and women, to come.”
