Honors Recital And Convocation Sunday, May 4, At 3 P.M. In UNK Fine Arts Recital Hall

UNK- Thirteen students from the University of Nebraska at Kearney Department of Music and Performing Arts will be recognized during the Honors Recital and Convocation on Sunday, May 4.

The recital will begin at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. Admission is free, and a reception will follow.

The students, who are selected and ranked by their studio teachers, must be at least junior status and have achieved advanced standing in voice or their major instrument.

The students who will perform, and the pieces that will be performed, are listed below by hometown and country:

-Kalie Wetovick of Fullerton, violin; Calynn Forrest of Kearney, viola; Andrea Zecha of Kearney, cello and Wenci Fan of China, piano, “Piano Quartet in Eb Major, Op. 47/l” by Schumann

 

-Sheila Pinkelman of Coleridge, trumpet, “Sonata for Trumpet” by Kennan

 

-Anthony Ford of Kearney, tenor saxophone, “Suite No. 1, Three Ballads for Stan Getz” by Wilder

 

-Chihiro Sugano and Maiko Sugahara both of Japan, one piano, four-hands, “Dolly, Op. 56, I,III,VI” by Faure

 

-Yuko Kogata and Ayako Ishida both of Japan, two pianos, “Danse Macabre, Op. 40” by Saint-Saens

 

-Hikari Maekawa of Japan, piano, “Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 16/I” by Grieg

 

-Phillip Zuehlke of Grand Island, tenor, “Adelaide” by Beethoven

 

-Yuko Wanda of Japan, soprano, “Les oiseau dans la charmille” from Les Contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach
