Don Fox Lecture Set For Sunday, Oct. 6

Dr. Timothy Neal, director of F-18 radiochemistry research with IBAMolecular in Sterling, Va., will present the 2007 Don Fox Memorial Lecture at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Nebraskan Student Union Cedar Room at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The public lecture is titled Nuclear Medicine in the United States – a Chemist’s Perspective.

After graduating from Kearney State College/UNK in 1975, Dr. Neal earned a doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Utah. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the medical chemistry department at the University of Utah, and in 1983, he joined the agricultural chemicals division of Diamond Shamrock Corporation in Cleveland. In 2002, Dr. Neal took a position with 3D Imaging, LLC, in Cleveland, a contract research company working with radiopharmaceutical products labeled with positron-emitting isotopes.

The Don Fox Memorial Lecture honors the late Dr. Donald Fox, former UNK chemistry faculty member, department chair, and dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences, for his long-time service and contributions to the chemistry department.
