SENIOR ART STUDENTS PRESENT WORKS AT WALKER ART GALLERY MARCH 20 – 30

Watercolor paintings, graphite compositions and photographic works created by senior art students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney are on exhibit at the Walker Art Gallery now through March 30.

The student artists, who are all art education majors, will host a reception from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the gallery. The exhibition is a requirement for UNK art majors.

Featured artists include: Stephanie Renken, Bertrand; Kylie Keller, Eustis; Deonne Hinz, McCook; and Cindi Holmes, Sargent.

The senior show includes a wide variety of media and works by each student artist. Renken is exhibiting a number of graphite pieces, including “Jaci,” “Eternal Love” and “Cherish.” Keller’s works include photography and acrylic pieces, including “The Brand,” “Boot” and “Sandhills Branding.” Hinz’s works include pastel pieces titled “Self-Portrait,” “Grandpa” and “Reflections in Blue,” while Holmes is exhibiting watercolor landscapes, including “Coral Sky,” “Blue Skies” and “Snow Glow.”

The show is free and open to the public. The Walker Art Gallery, which is located in the Art Annex of the Fine Arts Building, and is open weekdays 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30-4:30 p.m.
