Students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney can submit their research from class projects and independent studies for the ninth annual Student Research Day (SRD), which will take place on Friday, April 6, in the Nebraskan Student Union.

There are three options that students can choose from when submitting their research for approval. Students can present their findings in oral, poster or performance presentations.

To apply for SRD, students should log-on to www.unk.edu/acad/gradstudies/research/index.php?id=1112, and fill out the online application.

Dr. Kenya Taylor, UNK Graduate Studies and Research dean, said primary presenters should submit the application electronically, and they should also print a paper copy to be signed by their faculty research advisers.

Applications must be received by the Graduate Office by Friday, March 9. Dr. Taylor said research abstracts collected after March 9 will be accepted as space allows, but the presenters will not appear in the SRD program.

Dr. Taylor said the schedule for SRD will resemble recent programs. Posters are required to be set up by 9 a.m. and will judged at noon. Poster sessions will open later at 1:30 p.m.

Oral and performance presentations are expected to start in the morning and will conclude at 3:30 for the SRD reception.
