‘AFRICAN RHYTHM AND DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA’ WEDNESDAY, FEB. 28, FINAL EVENT FOR UNK AFRICAN-AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH

The final activity scheduled for African-American Heritage Month at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is “African Rhythm and Dance Extravaganza,” which will be take place Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the Nebraskan Student Union Cedar Room.

Soljah Productions, ShyQ and eXs, all Kearney dance groups, are the featured attractions of the event. The dancing squads will demonstrate a variety of African and reggae dancing. The history of each dance will be explained as well as how the style compares to hip hop and rap dancing.
    
After the performance, the audience members will be invited to the dance floor to learn the dancing styles presented.

Free and open to the public, the event is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs and will begin at 6 p.m. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served.
