DIRECTOR OF NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE TO MEET WITH UNK FINANCE STUDENTS

John Munn, director of the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance, will be meeting with finance students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney on Tuesday, Feb.13.
    
Munn will speak with students from Dr. Janet Trewin’s Advanced Tax Accounting class and Dr. Deborah Bridges’ Agricultural Finance class at 9:30 a.m. in West Center, Room 221E. At 2 p.m., Munn will speak with the Financial Institutions class, taught by Dr. Beverly Frickel, in West Center, Room 208N.

A Waverly native and graduate of the Colorado School of Banking, Munn was appointed as the director of banking and finance by Gov. Mike Johanns in January of 2005. Before his appointment as director, Munn was the president and chief executive officer of First National Bank and Trust in Syracuse.

Munn’s banking career includes service at The Cattle National Bank in Seward, National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln and Cornerstone Bank, N.A. in York. Munn is also a board member on the Nebraska Educational Finance Authority, the Nebraska Electronic Transfer System, the Education Foundation of State Bank Supervisors and the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.
