Eighteen new members have been inducted into Students In Mass Media (SIMM), the journalism honor society, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

To be nominated, students must have sophomore or above class standing, have at least a 3.2 GPA (a 4.0 is an “A” and a 3.0 is a “B”), have a major or minor in a mass communication field and be a full-time student.

SIMM Adviser Dr. Nanette Hogg said: “The goals of SIMM are to provide its members with experiences they may encounter in their future careers, to build their resumes and to meet with career professionals in their area of interest to learn more about the career they are pursuing.

“SIMM also provides the community and campus with service and opportunities not available without the sponsorship of the organization,” Dr. Hogg said.
