UNK TRAVEL AND TOURISM MAJORS RECEIVE $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS FROM THE NEBRASKA ADMIRALS

Jennifer Bernth of Grand Island  and Seth Fager of Oakland, travel and tourism majors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, have been named recipients of $1,000 Nebraska Admirals Scholarships.  
       
Barbara Amundson, lecturer in the UNK Department of Travel and Tourism, selects the winners of the Nebraska Admirals Scholarships. Amundson said she choose Bernth and Fager, because they both are exceptional students and have excellent GPA’s. She said their academic success was a major factor in their selection.  
    
Bernth, a travel and tourism major and Spanish minor, has been on the College of Education and National Dean’s list. She also works full-time and volunteers in her hometown of Grand Island. Her parents are Dan and Julie Bernth.  
    
Fager is a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society and is a Roskens Scholar. He is also involved in a variety of activities including the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, Intramurals Council and community activities, including Habitat for Humanity and Honey Sunday. In addition to majoring in travel and tourism, Fager is also pursuing a minor in marketing. His parents are Rick and Kathy Fager of Oakland.
