TOP AWARDS ANNOUNCED FOR KAPPA PI ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT ART EXHIBITION AT UNK

The awards for the Kappa Pi Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition at the University of Nebraska at Kearney have been announced this week.
    
The show, which is on display in the Walker Art Gallery now through March 17, includes works by 25 students. The works were placed into one of the following six categories for judging: graphic design, paper, canvas, ceramics, sculpture and glass. Only works created during the spring of 2005 through the spring of 2006 by a UNK undergraduate student were eligible.
    
This year, the competition was juried by Ben Sum, an assistant professor of art at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

     Silver Award – Ben Kuhl from Grand Island  for Self-Portrait

     Silver Award – Steve Valish from Schuyler  for Teatime Packaging
     Bronze Award – David Beach from Misawa, Japan  for Puncture Movie
