The Student Social Work Organization at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is sponsoring a shoe drive in the UNK Founders Hall student lounge now through Friday, Oct. 29.

Shoes will be accepted from the public as well as members of the university community. Donated shoes should be taken to the social work student lounge located on the second floor of Founders Hall.

“Any type of shoes in good condition will be greatly appreciated,” said Dr. Sandy Cook-Fong, associate professor of criminal justice and social work. “However, any contribution of children’s shoes would be particularly helpful.”

This is the first year the organization has sponsored a shoe drive. The shoes collected will be given to the Jubilee Center and Salvation Army in Kearney.
