The Search for Other Earths will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the University of Nebraska at Kearney planetarium, which is located downstairs in Bruner Hall of Science.

According to Dr. Jose Mena-Werth, associate professor of physics and physical science, the 45-minute show, which is free and open to the public, is appropriate for all ages.

“During the last nine years, we have discovered over 100 planets orbiting other stars,” Dr. Mena-Werth said.  “In 2007, NASA will launch a mission to find the Earth-like planets.”

Although there is no charge, nonperishable food items will be collected for the Kearney Jubilee Center.  On-campus parking without a permit is available for those who attend.
