Dr. Elizabeth Kronfield has been named the 2004 UNK Outstanding Student Organization Adviser of the Year.

Karla Falk Steele, coordinator of Student Activities for the Nebraskan Student Union, presented the award.

“Each year on our campus, members of our faculty, staff and administration devote countless hours advising the more than 160 UNK student organizations,” said Steele. “These individuals freely give their time and expertise without thought of remuneration or recognition.”

Dr. Kronfield, who advises the UNK Art Society, was nominated by the organization’s president Jeff Kenney.

“In her first year as our adviser, membership in the UNK Art Society has nearly doubled,” Kenney said. “Our organization has new energy and direction.” The group is currently reviving its affiliation with Kappa Pi, a national art fraternity.

“We are becoming better recognized in both our local community and national conference simply due to our adviser’s passionate desire and timeless conviction,” Kenney said.

The award is given by the Nebraskan Student Union. Dr. Kronfield also received gift certificates from the Antelope Bookstore, Chartwells Dining Service and the Nebraskan Welcome desk.
