The University of Nebraska at Kearney Criminal Justice Department, Nebraska Correctional Association and Nebraska Jail Standards Division are hosting the Fifteenth Annual Regional Criminal Justice Conference on April 22-23 at the UNK Nebraskan Student Union Great Room.
April 22 will feature the 2003 Spring Training Conference for criminal justice professionals. Bill Collins, NIC Legal Issues Attorney, will be the speaker for the day focusing on the latest trends and movements within the Federal Court System that affect corrections, jails and juvenile justice agencies. The day will conclude with an awards reception at 7:00 p.m. at the Kearney Holiday Inn. Dedicated Service Awards will be presented to outstanding criminal justice professionals in the region and a scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in criminal justice. Since there is limited seating, students are asked to apply through the criminal justice department to attend these sessions.
April 23 will feature the criminal justice conference open to UNK and the surrounding communities, however registration is required. 135 agencies have been invited to attend the Job Fair that will be held this day for students interested in entering the criminal justice field. On both days, a large vendor area will be open with items related to the criminal justice field.
