The University of Nebraska at Kearney Department of Music will be hosting the annual Merry Tuba Christmas on Saturday, December 8 at noon in the Hilltop Mall.

All low brass and tuba players from the area are invited to participate in the event. Bill Winkle of Chadron State College and UNK Professor Dr. Gary Davis will direct the group in numerous selections. The performance will include Deck the Halls, O Tannenbaum, Jingle Bells, We Wish you a Merry Christmas and White Christmas.

According to Ron Crocker, UNK professor of music and performing arts, the concert will be perfect for Christmas. “Tuba choirs possess a truly unique and beautiful sound appropriate for the holidays,” he said.

The participants will meet and practice at UNK in the morning and then head to the mall around noon to perform. For more information, contact the Department of Music Office at (308) 865-8618.
