EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATORS COMPLETE EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATOR TRAINING

UNK-Emergency vehicle operators from Nebraska recently completed an Emergency Vehicle Operator Training (EVOT) course through the Nebraska Safety Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Training sessions included rural driving, night driving, driving in adverse conditions, multi-lane driving, and a review of the Nebraska laws. Instructors provided range and on-street assessment of the driving abilities of the participants.

“Emergency vehicle operations are inherently dangerous and education for the vehicle operator helps them understand the dynamics of the vehicle and possible reactions of other drivers and pedestrians,” said Sherry Morrow of the Nebraska Safety Center.
