UNK-On Wed., Jan. 24, at 7 p.m., the University of Nebraska at Kearney will host a viewing site of Nebraska ETV’s “Countdown to College.” This live, call-in program will feature a panel of experts to answer viewers’ questions about loans, scholarships, student work programs, and grants for high school students as well as for those already enrolled in post-high school education.
Parents, students and others with questions on how to finance a college education are invited to view the “Countdown to College” broadcast at the Calvin T. Ryan Library, Anna Jennings Room.
“This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who needs information about college planning and financial aid,” said Mary Sommers, director of financial aid at UNK. After the program, UNK financial aid staff and admissions staff will be on hand for private consultation. “The benefit of coming to UNK to view the program is that following the program, families can sit down and talk to us one on one about their questions or their situations,” Sommers, said.
For those unable to watch the program at UNK, viewers can call toll-free (800) 666-3721 during the broadcast with their questions about education beyond high school.
