STUDENTS PERFORM AT ACTING COMPETITION

UNK-Ten students from the University of Nebraska at Kearney are in Overland Park, KS Jan. 16-21 to participate in the Irene Ryan Acting Competition at the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival. The students will be performing selections from a variety of plays, including Shakespeare’s Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew, numerous contemporary plays including ‘Night Mother and Bent and their own original work.

Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival is an organization encouraging excellence in collegiate theatre in the United States. Nominees from the Irene Ryan Acting Competition compete with peers from their region each January for scholarships and the opportunity to advance to the final round of competition at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC in April.
