2000 SOUTHWEST TOUR

UNK-The 2000 Seminar and Tour will focus the visual arts of the Southwest and the blend of American Indian, Spanish and Anglo cultures.

After a four day seminar on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus (July 25-28), the group will travel to the Southwest (July 30-Aug. 6). The tour will include stops at the Denver Art Museum and Mesa Verde near Cortez, Colo. While traveling through New Mexico, the group will visit Georgia O’Keefe’s home and studio in Abiquiu. In Sante Fe, the group will visit the Fine Arts Museum, the Georgia O’Keefe Museum and the International Folk Art Museum. The tour will then wind its way through Spanish mountain villages and visit historic sites as well as many galleries and shops.

The Southwest seminar/tour is limited to 18 students. Reservation deposits of $150 will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost includes all transportation, lodging and admission to all sites requiring attendance, along with three meals. The cost does not include the cost of tuition for three hours of university credit.
