INTERIOR DESIGN STUDENTS PRESENT SENIOR SHOW TUESDAY, APRIL 18

Allison Nissen
UNK student, 402.416.3863

The students of the University of Nebraska at Kearney interior design program will exhibit their senior shows on Tuesday, April 18, at the Museum of Nebraska Art.

The show will be on display at the MONA from 4 – 7 p.m., and is open to the public.

The UNK interior design students develop a senior project as part of their program. Each student designer will have a display set up to provide a visual aid. The designers will also be available to explain their design ideas.

This semester, each student’s project is based on a health care clinic.

The students chose what their clinic’s description would be. They were given the dimensions of the exterior walls, and where an elevator and columns were located in the building.

The students were then required to decide the layout of different rooms – a reception area, bathrooms, examination rooms, etc. The students were also responsible for deciding on a color scheme, fabrics, furniture and carpet.

At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the students will be critiqued in a private session by professionals within the interior design field. Public viewing of the projects will then begin at 4 p.m.
