Musical entertainer Preston Pugmire will be performing on Thursday, Feb. 2, on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus.The performance, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 8 p.m. in the Nebraskan Student Union Ponderosa Room.
Pugmire, who is from Rexburg, Idaho, takes his music to the next level by creating it from scratch in front of a live audience. With beats, bass, guitars and vocals, he does it all himself while entertaining the audience. He uses floor pedals to allow him to record anything he plays, then adds multiple sounds on top of it to create his music.
“It’s a very entertaining, high-action performance,” said Tim Danube, UNK Student Center associate director. “He uses a technique called ‘looping’ which allows him to create his music.” Looping means recording bits of music and then looping them as long as needed.
Pugmire has won several music contests and has been traveling across the United States for the last four years performing. He has become well-known with the college scene, and he is described as being one of the most popular music artists on the circuit nationwide.
