KEARNEY – Fore!
University Theatre at Kearney has a new season of shows teed up, starting with this week’s production of Ken Ludwig’s “A Fox on the Fairway.”
Directed by University of Nebraska at Kearney alumna Allyson Fricke, this fast-paced comedy will take audience members on a hilarious romp that pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, the play recalls the Marx Brothers’ classics while highlighting one man’s eternal love affair with golf.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at UNK’s Miriam Drake Theatre. The show runs nearly two hours, including a 15-minute intermission. It’s recommended for teen audiences and older.
The cast includes UNK students Finnegan Denson, Alex Ladely, Brianna Linden, Lainey Schmeits, Keegan Spence and Makayla Strosnider.
General admission tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors and youths ages 13-18; $7 per person for groups of 10 or more; and free for UNK students with a valid ID. The UNK Theatre Box Office is open noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and one hour prior to each performance. All ticket purchases are payable by cash or check only. For reservations, call 308-865-8417 or email boxoffice@unk.edu.
