UNK assistant director of Undergraduate Recruitment, 308.865.8435
More than 20 high school guidance counselors will have the opportunity to “experience Kearney” when they visit the Nebraska High School Guidance Counselor Visit Day at the University of Nebraska at Kearney Thursday, March 22.
The daylong event begins at 9 a.m. in the Sisler Room of the Memorial Student Affairs Building and includes presentations by the deans of each college. In addition, the guidance counselors will meet with the director of undergraduate admissions, discuss the admissions process and meet with members of the UNK administration. A tour of campus will also be offered.
“The event is really a chance for us to showcase our campus to guidance counselors from around the state,” said Michael Pelster, assistant director of undergraduate recruitment. “We’ll show the counselors some of the changes that have taken place since they were at UNK last.”
Pelster said that of the 21 guidance counselors who registered for the event, many are from the Omaha area.
