Mike Fitzpatrick of Omaha (Class of 1963) is the newly elected president of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Alumni Association. Fitzpatrick, president and chief executive officer of Cosgriff Company, a national consulting firm with headquarters in Omaha, assumed the duties at the association’s annual board of directors meeting in conjunction with 2002 Homecoming earlier in October. Fitzpatrick replaces John Ryan (Class of 1982) of Omaha.
Other officers for the 2002-2003 year are Angela Bantam Regenos (Class of 1984) of Kearney, president-elect, and Charles Lindly (Class of 1952) of Rapid City, South Dakota, secretary. Nine board members completed three-year teams on the board and are now trustees of the association. They are P.J. Bosak (Class of 1979) of Olathe, Kansas; Laurie Laue Farr (Class of 1984) of Cambridge; Betty Guthman Kruse (Class of 1965) of Grand Island; Larry Paul (Class of 1972) of Lincoln; Roger Sheffield (Class of 1989) of Crete; Angie Morgan Walker (Class of 1990) of Plano, Texas; and Joe Garden (Class of 1982), Mary Ann Kociemba Lawson (Class of 1992) and Tim O’Dea (Class of 1972). Lori Leinhart Waters (Class of 1974), who served as the Alumni Association president in 2000-2001, completed her term on the executive committee.
New board members elected to three-year terms are Marshall Adams (Class of 1964), superintendent of schools in Seward; Les Adelung (Class of 1983), senior vice president with Five Points Bank in Kearney; Amy Bellows (Class of 1984) client services manager, Direct Response Marketing Company, West Telemarketing, in Omaha; Larry Dix (Class of 1977) executive director of the Nebraska Association of County Officials in Lincoln; Cheryl Nienhueser (Class of 1977) a teacher in Houston; Matt Sheffield (Class of 1996) a development officer with Bethpage in Denver, Colorado; Joyce Bryan Strout (Class of 1970), chief executive officer of J.B. Strout & Company in Chicago, a company she started which creates and delivers training in management, sales and interpersonal skills around the world; Larry Wilcox (Class of 1967, master of arts in education 1971) senior vice president with Minden Exchange Bank & Trust Company in Minden; John Wolf (Class of 1973) president of John Wolf Insurance Company in Seattle, Washington.
