Dr. Marilyn Hadley
The University of Nebraska at Kearney, College of Education will dedicate the benches that rest in the Atrium of the new College of Education building on Friday, October 11, during a homecoming reception being held from 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
The benches being dedicated have been donated by families in honor of individuals who have been long time supporters of UNK. Bench dedications are to the following:
- William “Bill” Nelson Retired faculty member from the College of Education
- Alvie and Ruth Payne Kearney community leaders and UNK Supporters
The reception will also honor distinguished UNK alumni who have received teaching degrees from the College of Education and during the past 2001 school year have received significant recognition. The guests being honored and their awards are as follow:
- Janell Godberson Beveridge Distinguished Alumni Service Award
- Larry Hardesty Distinguished Alumni Award
- Marge Kindvall Harouff Distinguished Alumni Award
- Karol McKenzie Nelson Athletic Hall of Fame
- Tom Bales Athletic Hall of Fame
- Joe Green Distinguished Alumni Award
- Dean Reicks Athletic Hall of Fame
- Sharon Mullen Zavala Athletic Hall of Fame
All UNK faculty, staff and students are invited and encouraged to come for excellent conversation and refreshments.
