The University of Nebraska at Kearney Phi Alpha Theta, History Society, and History Club will present a video entitled “The History of Halloween” on Wednesday, October 30 at 4:30 in Copeland Hall room 140.
“This story begins with the ancient pre-Christian era sources of Halloween, it then traces the influence of the Roman era and the Christian medieval era where Halloween becomes demonized,” said Dr. Roger Davis, professor of the Department of History. “It then follows Halloween to the USA where it becomes commercialized and finally full circle to religious controversy over the holiday.”
The video is free and open to the public.
