The 2002 Poetry Slam will showcase students and their creative works on April 19 at 8 p.m. at the Thunderhead Brewery. It is sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta in conjunction with the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Department of English’s Student Conference on Language and Literature.
Registration forms are available in the English Department and will be available at the Slam. Each entrant should bring four original poems in anticipation of final rounds. The judges will be Professors Barbara Emrys and Chuck Peek from UNK and Jeffrey Howlett from Wayne State College. Prizes will be awarded for the top three participants: $75 for first, $50 for second, and $25 for third.
