The Residence Hall Association at the University of Nebraska at Kearney will be hosting a Celebrity Auction on Saturday, December 8, at the Health and Sports Center. The silent auction will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the UNK wrestling meet and basketball games. Randall and Stout Halls are coordinating the event.
Randall Hall, Hall Council Vice President Amy Willadsen, a sophomore from Grant, began this project during the summer when she sent out about 950 letters to various celebrities. She began receiving items almost immediately and currently has over 120 items. Proceeds from the auction will go toward Randall and Stout Hall improvements. Monetary donations areas will be set up for the Red Cross.
Items for the auction have been donated from various celebrities including Tim Allen, Drew Barrymore, Minnie Driver, Heather Locklear, Ted Turner and Tiger Woods and include items such as autographed photos, posters and scripts.
