Governor Mike Johanns signed a proclamation yesterday announcing May as Better Hearing and Speech month, which was presented to UNK professor and president of the Nebraska Speech Language Association, Kenya Taylor.
“We really appreciate the Governor’s support because we not only use the month of May to make the public aware but to inform them of professional help that is available,” said Taylor.
The UNK Student Speech, Language, and Hearing Association will be celebrating with free hearing screenings at Kidz Explore at the UNK Health and Sports Center on April 21-22, and will provide informational materials concerning normal speech, language, and hearing development.
