University of Nebraska at Kearney 2000 graduate, Melanie Walters of Papillion and her father, Nelson Lampe of Papillion will be performing a vocal recital on April 28 at 4 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
Walters, a mezzo-soprano, and Lampe, a baritone, will be performing works from Broadway composers past and present, such as: Kander and Ebb, Rogers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sandheim, and Cole Porter. Walters graduated from UNK with a B.A. in Organizational Communication.
Walters also finished 4th at the American Traditions National Vocal Competition in Savannah, GA and is a regional NATS winner in musical theater. Lampe has performed various roles at the Omaha Community Playhouse and has been a soloist in the Omaha Press Club Show.
