Tom Schlund of Ravenna and Nancy Ibarra of Lexington were crowned Homecoming King and Queen at ceremonies held on the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus Thursday night.
Ibarra is the daughter of Isreael Ibarra and the late Virginia Ibarra; her stepmother is Sofia Ibarra. She represents Mantor Hall, where she is in her second year as a resident adviser.
A junior majoring in business administration, with a minor in Spanish, Ibarra is part of the leadership team for Campus Crusade for Christ and a member of the Hispanic Student Association. She is also a member of the national residence hall honor society, which recognizes the top one percent of students living on campus with outstanding leadership and service skills. She is the multicultural representative for Student Government for the 2004-2005 school year.
Schlund is the son of Steve and Becky Schlund. A junior majoring in business management information systems, he represents Randall Hall, where he is a resident adviser. Further, he is a student senator for the College of Business and Technology. In addition, he is in the Honors Program, the national residence hall honor society and a member of the Randall Hall Council.

Katie Frost of Grand Island
Frost is the daughter of Larry and Vicky Frost. She represents Alpha Phi sorority, and she is currently the president of the Alpha Phi. Frost is a senior majoring in chemistry. A member of the 2003 and 2004 Summer Advising and Enrollment staff, she is currently involved in the Honors Program, Mortar Board, Diplomats and Chancellor’s Ambassadors.
Rachel Dinsdale of Lincoln
Dinsdale is the daughter of Pam McMaster and Randy Dinsdale. She represents Centennial Towers East (CTE). Dinsdale, a junior, is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, vice president of the Loper Programming and Activities Council, and a resident adviser in CTE. She is also involved in the Leadership Development Council.
Brette Covington of North Platte
Covington is the daughter of Deanna and Gary Covington. Covington is a junior majoring in music theater. She represents Alpha Omicron Pi and holds the office of new member educator and formal recruitment chair. Covington is also a member of Nebraskats, Choraleers, Collegium, Phi Eta Sigma and is the historian of Delta Omicron. She is presently working as a student diplomat and was a member of the summer Student Advising and Enrollment team.

Mike Sands of Hastings
Sands is the son of Robert and Susie Sands. A senior majoring in business finance, he represents the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is an active member in Interfraternity Council and Order of Omega. Sands is a student senator for the College of Business and Technology. A Deans’ List student, he is in the Honors Program and Finance Club.
Clint Gormley of Omaha
Gormley is the son of Jeanne and Bud Gormley. He represents Centennial Towers West (CTW). A junior majoring in education, he is a resident adviser in CTW for the sixth floor.
Nick Lemek of Omaha
Lemek is the son of Mike and Beth Lemek. He represents the Mantor Hall Council. Lemek is a residence adviser in Mantor Hall, an Omaha World-Herald/Kearney Hub scholarship recipient and a member part of the Honors Program. He is also a 2004 Cornhusker State Game Gold Medalist in boxing.
