Finalists for the 2005 homecoming royalty at the University of Nebraska at Kearney were announced today.
The 2005 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned Thursday, Sept. 29, after the Lip Sync contest, which begins at 7 p.m. in the UNK Health and Sports Center.
Finalists and the entire slate of candidates for the 2005 homecoming royalty are listed below, alphabetically by hometown, with Homecoming Queen candidates listed first followed by Homecoming King candidates.
Queen Finalists
Morgan Anderson is the daughter of Douglas Anderson, Jeri Anderson and JoAnn Anderson of Amherst. She is representing student government where she is a senator for the College of Natural and Social Sciences. Morgan is a junior majoring in political science and international studies, minoring in Spanish. She is involved in the Honors Program, Campus Crusade for Christ and is a resident adviser in Randall Hall. | |
Sarah Marshall is the daughter of Art and Kristi Marshall of Elm Creek. She is representing Randall Hall. She is a junior studying chemistry with an emphasis in molecular biology. Sarah is a resident adviser and is involved in the Honors Program, National Residence Hall Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma and is a scholar of IDEA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence. | |
Jael Johnson is the daughter of the late Judy Johnson and John C. Johnson of Gothenburg. Jael is a junior majoring in organizational communication. She represents Mantor Hall. She serves as a resident adviser and is involved in Loper Programming and Activities Council, Phi Eta Sigma, Rho Alpha Sigma and Intramurals. She is a supplemental instruction leader. | |

Suzanne Bochmann is the daughter of Fred and JoAnn Bochmann of Red Oak, Iowa. Suzanne is a senior majoring in music business and recreation park management. She represents the CTW Hall Council. She is a resident adviser and is involved in Delta Omicron, Phi Beta Lambda, American Legion Auxiliary, Antelope Artillery, basketball Pep Band and Choraleers. She also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. |

Luke Saulsberry is the son of David and Christie Saulsberry of Auburn. Luke is a junior majoring in organizational communication. He is sponsored by the National Residence Hall Honor Society. Luke is also a resident adviser in Mantor Hall and the president of the Loper Programming and Activities Council. He enjoys tennis. | |
Mike Eiberger is the son of Maury and Jeanine Eiberger of St. Paul. He is a junior in pre-pharmacy and industrial distribution. Mike is a resident adviser for the Healthy Lifestyles Community, UNK Diplomat and Chancellor’s Ambassadors. He is involved in the Health and Science Club, Phi Beta Lambda, president of the Resident Adviser Council and is a Student Court Justice. He enjoys hunting and fishing, and Tri-City Storm Hockey. | |
Cody Sasek is the son of Marvin and Bev Sasek of Wilber. He is a senior majoring in exercise science and is representing Pi Kappa Alpha, where he currently serves as president. Cody is also involved in Mortar Board, the Honors Program, Order of Omega and the Chancellor’s Ambassadors. He is a student athletic trainer and works as an intern in the Kearney High School Athletic Training Room. | |

2005 Homecoming Queen Candidates
Tara Einspahr is the daughter of Dennis and Helen Einspahr of Fremont. She is a senior representing Conrad Hall. Tara is majoring in social work with a minor in criminal justice. She is involved in Student Envoy, Phi Alpha, University Lutheran and the Student Social Work Organization. She volunteers her time at the Kearney SAFE Center.
Andrea Maly is the daughter of John and Denise Maly of Fremont. She is representing Centennial Towers East. Andrea is a senior majoring in visual communication and design. She is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Honors Program and Phi Eta Sigma. Andrea is a resident adviser in CTE.
Heather Bolin is the daughter of Jim and Sue Bolin of Gibbon. She is representing the Alpha Phi Sorority. Heather is a senior majoring in travel and tourism. She is the president of the Travel and Tourism Club and is involved in intramurals, Relay for Life and Kidz Explore. She was recently inducted into the Nebraska Admirals Association. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Alisha Schnackenberg is the daughter of Matt and Donna Schnackenberg of Gothenburg. Alisha is a senior majoring in organizational communications and represents The Pod at University Residence South B. She is a member of Chi Omega, the National Residence Hall Honor Society, Student Envoy and regional board of directors for MACURH. She will be continuing her education in collegiate development and student affairs.
Heidi Ruzicka is the daughter of John and Judy Ruzicka of Grand Island. Heidi represents Martin Hall where she is a resident adviser. She is also involved in Phi Kappa Phi, the Student Education Association of Nebraska, the National Residence Hall Honor Society and a volunteer for the Friends Program.
Eve Legacie is the daughter of Eunice and Terry Legacie of Gretna. Eve is a senior majoring in mass media communications. She is representing Gamma Phi Beta where she has served as corresponding secretary, administrative vice president and parliamentarian. She has also been involved in the theater program.
Amber Kunnemann is the daughter of Marlon and Debbie Kunneman of Imperial. She is representing the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Amber is a senior majoring in middle grades education with endorsements in language arts and social sciences. She is involved in Mortar Board, Order of Omega, the Student Education Association of Nebraska and Phi Eta Sigma. She likes to compete in intramurals and teaches Sunday school at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Rebecca Gosnell is the daughter of Ralph and Mary Jo Gosnell of North Platte. She is a senior majoring in music education. Representative for Stout Hall, Rebecca is in the Honors Program and many music organizations including Tau Beta Sigma, Marching and Symphonic Band, and is president of the UNK Chapter of MENC. She also volunteers as a tutor to underclassman music majors.
Amanda Mollet is the daughter of Doug and Jan Mollet of North Platte. She represents Chi Omega. Amanda is a senior studying political science and speech communication. Amanda is involved in Student Government, Campus Democrats, Lambda Pi Eta, National Residence Hall Honor Society and is a resident adviser in the Chi Omega sorority.
Trisha Borland is the daughter of James Borland and Mary Elya of Papillion. She is a senior representing Ludden Hall. Trisha is majoring in organizational communication. She is the president of the National Residence Hall Honor Society and is involved in the Loper Programming and Activities Council and Rho Alpha Sigma.
Angie Mass is the daughter of Dale and Diane Munhall of Union. Angie is a junior majoring in elementary education and is representing Case Hall. She is involved in the Elementary Education Majors Club, Phi Eta Sigma, Residence Hall Association and has volunteered for the UNK Buddy System, Piece by Peace and Career Fair Day.

Danielle Phillips is the daughter of Tom and Donna Phillips of Hays, Kan. She is a senior majoring in elementary education and special education. A resident adviser, she is involved in Rho Alpha Sigma, the Student Education Association of Nebraska, and is the president of the Elementary Education Club.
International
Sylvia Mihalik is the daughter of Viktor and Luda Mihalik of Roznava, Slovakia. She is representing Men’s Hall. Sylvia, a resident adviser, is a senior majoring in business administration with an emphasis in management. She spent a semester studying in Finland and is currently involved in the Loper Programming and Activities Council, Rho Alpha Sigma and the Chancellor’s Ambassadors.

Landon Lueshen is the son of Kevin and Jeanette Lueshen of Beemer. He is a senior majoring in accounting. Landon is representing Centennial Towers East where he is a resident adviser. He is also involved in intramurals, the Accounting Society and Phi Eta Sigma.
Scott Gamblin is the son of Don and Cindy Gamblin of Chapman. Scott, a senior majoring in elementary education, is representing Case Hall. He is involved with the Elementary Education Club, Christian Student Fellowship and is vice president of Case Hall.
Matthew Allbright is the son of Richard and Tammy Allbright of Cozad. He is representing Men’s Hall. Matt is a junior majoring in recreation and park management, and is involved in Residence Hall Association, Loper Programming and Activities Council, Student Envoy and MACURH. He is also the president of the Recreation Majors Club.
Brad Stastny is the son of Vicki and Bill Sastny of David City. Brad is a senior majoring in psychology. He is representing Ludden Hall.
Josh Casey is the son of Mona Casey of Grand Island. Josh is representing Martin hall. He is junior majoring in history and Spanish. He is a resident adviser in Martin Hall and is involved in Christian Student Fellowship. He plans to study abroad next year in the Czech Republic and Spain.
Jose Perea is the son of Angal and Enriqueta Gutierrez of Grand Island. He is a junior majoring in secondary education and is representing Sigma Lambda Beta international fraternity. Jose is involved in Hispanic Student Association and enjoys being a role model and shaping the minds of the next generation.
Adam Sevenker is the son of Lynn and Kris Sevenker of Grand Island. He is representing Stout Hall, where he serves as president. Adam is majoring in physics with a minor in mathematics. He is the treasurer of Kappa Mu Epsilon and serves as a peer tutor for Academic Success.
Mike Sands is the son of Bob and Susie Sands of Hastings. He is representing Sigma Phi Epsilon. Mike is a senior majoring in business administration and is involved in Interfraternity Council, Order of Omega, Student Government, the Honors Program and Finance Club. Mike also coached YMCA football and volunteers with Relay for Life, Honey Sunday and Kidz Explore.
Logan Stickney is the son of Steve and Deb Stickney of Kearney. He is representing student government. Logan is a senior majoring in psychology and is involved in student government, the Newman Center, Psychology Club and is the president of Leadership UNK. He enjoys skiing, hiking and music, and is a member of the Nebraskats and Choraleers.
Michael Marish is the son of Paul and Georgia Marish of Lincoln. He is a senior majoring in construction management. Michael is representing Conrad Hall where he is a resident adviser. He is also on hall council and enjoys playing poker.
Joe Wiechman is the son of Dick and Kathleen Wiechman of Lincoln. Joe is a junior majoring in K-12 physical education and health education. He is a resident adviser in CTW and is on hall council.
