The University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Japanese Association (JAK) will be promoting their Japanese Art Stage with a series of activities from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at the Hilltop Mall.
Among the activities are a Japanese calligraphy demonstration, photo frame crafts and origami.
The Japanese Art Stage, which is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, in the Fine Arts Recital Hall, will feature Japanese
students singing in a chorus and small ensemble. In addition, they will perform native dances.
The Art Stage event will also feature Japanese old drama performed by students from the Kearney Public Schools.
“All performers are working hard to make this event a success,” said Hikari Maekawa, student coordinator for the Japanese Art Stage.
