KEARNEY – Community members can get a taste of Korean culture during an upcoming event at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The Korean Student Association at Kearney will host the eighth annual Korean Festival on Sunday (Nov. 11) in the Nebraskan Student Union Ponderosa Room. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m.
Members of the Korean Student Association spend months planning the festival, which includes a variety of cultural performances and activities, as well as authentic food prepared by UNK students.
“There is no better way to learn about Korea here in Kearney,” said Jake Kim, an international recruitment specialist at UNK and adviser for the Korean Student Association. “Korea is one of the most globally recognized and sought-after countries in the world, and the audience can get a taste of why that is so.”
Currently, 59 Korean students are studying at UNK.
