University of Nebraska at Kearney senior Katherine Sizer will present a student flute recital on Friday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.
Sizer will be joined by Chiyo Palacios-Kamada and Franziska Nabb on flute, and Marilyn Musick on the piano. The works that will be performed are “Concertino, Op. 107,” “Concerto for Two Flutes,” “Adagio Religioso, K 622,” “Sonata in A Minor for Flute Alone” and “Andante and Rondo for Two Flutes and Piano.”
Sizer has been active in the UNK Department of Music and Performing Arts. She currently performs with the Kearney Area Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of UNK’s top choirs from 2003-2006 and a member of the UNK Wind Ensemble from 2004-2007. A recipient of a Department of Music Scholarship in 2003, she has been on the Dean’s List for four years.
Sizer is the daughter of Lori Sizer of Kearney and Danny Sizer of South Carolina. A K-12 music education major, she plans to student teach in Wahoo in the spring and graduate from UNK in May 2008.
