Take a look inside Calvin T. Ryan Library, which is not only a place of study and research but is also home to the Loper Success Hub and Department of Communication.

The University of Nebraska at Kearney library opened in 1963 when the university was known as Kearney State College. Over the years, the three-story building was remodeled and expanded. Most recently, a $25 million renovation completed in 2024 enhanced the layout, appearance and functionality of the nearly 100,000-square-foot space.

One change included the addition of the Loper Success Hub on the second floor. It is home to Academic Advising and Career Development, Disability Services for Students, TRIO Student Support Services, Tutoring and Academic Support, Kearney Bound Scholars and the Honors Program, creating a one-stop shop for students. The Department of Communication houses spaces such as the video and radio studios, student newspaper production and multiple classrooms.
