University of Nebraska at Kearney shuts down for second straight day due to winter blizzard; Campus closed Jan. 19

University of Nebraska at Kearney will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 19, because of inclement weather.

This closure applies to all students and any employees who are not deemed essential to the support of emergency campus operations. Any activity or event that is not specifically listed as being open should be considered closed, canceled or postponed.

The closure includes:
– Calvin T. Ryan Library
– Plambeck Early Childhood Education Center
– Loper Spirit Shop
– The Wellness Center

UNK Dining Services will operate as follows:
– The Grid, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– The Graze, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

As with all closing decisions, essential personnel should report to their supervisor. Employees who have the capability to complete their work from home or an alternative worksite location as determined by their supervisor should work remotely.

Students, faculty and staff are reminded to contact UNK Police at 308.865.8911 in the event they need on-campus roadside assistance or other support. In the event of on-campus emergencies, please call 911.
