UNK employee giving campaign underway; Three area nonprofits are partners

University of Nebraska at Kearney employees are now able to make donations and participate in three fund drives that benefit the community. Employees will make pledges using online forms specific to UNK. The three entities the university partners with for donations and payroll deductions are:

UNK asks that by Nov. 23 employees decide about giving that fits their budget and provides them satisfaction that comes with charitable giving.

To make a pledge or donation, click the links above to go directly to the organizations’ contribution websites.

Employees may give to any or all of the organizations through a one-time gift or payroll deduction, which UNK is required by law to handle for these federations.

Those who choose payroll deduction will be asked to provide their personnel number along with name on the online form. The federations will forward information received on their websites to UNK Human Resources for processing beginning Jan. 1, 2022.

Those not comfortable making donations online can request a paper form or other information directly from the coalition/organization.

Below are some thumbnail sketches of what each federation does. Employees may also designate individual charities within each federation.

Community Services Fund of Nebraska is the “Quality of Life” component to UNK’s employee giving campaign. There are 62 unique member agencies to choose from, including: MONA, Merryman Performing Arts Center, the Arc of Nebraska, Audubon Nebraska, Make-A-Wish Nebraska, Nebraska Children’s Home Society, Open Door Mission, Mental Health Association of Nebraska, NALHD – Nebraska Association of Local Health Directors, Nebraska Appleseed, University of Nebraska Foundation, Humanities Nebraska, Inclusive Communities and many more.

Community Health Charities of Nebraska is a family of 22 nonprofit health charities working to improve the lives of Nebraskans affected by a disability or chronic disease. Donations received by CHC-NE member charities are used to support disease prevention, research, education and health services, with projects like Susan G. Komen of Great Plains, Team Jack Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association and others. Through CHC-N, 100% of designated dollars go directly to the member charities.
