KEARNEY – Erika Pritchard has joined the University of Nebraska at Kearney Communications and Marketing Department as a digital content creator.
She writes press releases and creates news and marketing content for a variety of social media, web and digital platforms, including photography and video work. She also helps produce the campus newsletter and maintain the UNK News page, and will play a key role in UNK’s enrollment and recruitment marketing initiatives.
Pritchard comes to UNK from the Kearney Hub, where she was the regional editor and image editor since 2016. Her work won numerous Nebraska Press Association and National Federation of Press Women writing and photography awards, including the NPA’s photo of the year in 2019 and 2020.
Prior to working in journalism, she had a 10-year career in higher education as coordinator of leadership development at Nebraska Methodist College, admissions counselor at College of Saint Mary and admissions coordinator at Chadron State College.
A Pleasanton native, Pritchard earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Chadron State in 2004 and master’s in organizational leadership from College of Saint Mary in 2010. She also holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in commercial photography from Metropolitan Community College.
