Twelve area high schools and more than 125 students learned more about career choices in the arts field and postsecondary education at Wednesday’s Imagination Day at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
A recruiting event for UNK’s Department of Art and Design, the day introduces high schoolers to courses offered at the university and exposes them to new techniques and equipment. The event has brought more than 600 high schoolers to campus over the past five years.
In addition to a tour and presentation at Museum of Nebraska Art, students attended art demonstrations, presentations and workshops that focused on painting, ceramics, sculpture, print making, photography, computer animation and letterpress.
